Situational Analysis of the Hampton Roads Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
Realizing that long-term economic growth is tied to a region’s ability to foster innovation, Re-Invent Hampton Roads and 757 Angels initiated a “Situational Analysis of the Hampton Roads Entrepreneurial Ecosystem”.
The subsequent analysis focused on three primary objectives:
- Identifying the key elements that play a role in creating a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem
- Comparing the current state of the ecosystem in Hampton Roads to those key elements to determine gaps; and
- Recommending steps necessary to shore up those gaps, including how to prioritize these efforts
The methodology, process, and final report help elucidate some key considerations and best practices for other regions that are considering initiatives to bolster their respective entrepreneurial ecosystems.
